The New York Court of Appeals upheld the use of eminent domain for the Atlantic Yards project. After the ruling, Atlantic Yards developer Bruce Ratner stated that the ruling confirmed that the project would benefit the greater public of Brooklyn and New York City. The developer expects the Nets arena to be built and completed around June 2012. Opponents are still fighting as tthe development. Four lawsuits are currently underway.
